Interview with February Grace
Hellloo(:
Today I am pleased to introduce you to February Grace. She is absoultely lovely and did my very first interview.
We decided to interview one another and I am grateful to introduce you to my friend, February.
In a few paragraphs, describe who you are and what you do.
FG: I'm February Grace, an author, poet, and artist from Michigan, where it is much colder most of the time than I would like. I am more than mildly obsessed with romance, clocks, books, colors, music, and meteor showers. My fifth novel with Booktrope, WISHING CROSS STATION, is a dark fantasy/romance and is scheduled to be released on June 2nd 2015. I couldn't be more excited about it!

Q1: I know you're a lover of books and writing, so tell me, who is your favorite author of all time? Why is it your favorite?
FG: This is so difficult, because I have favorite writers in different genres. Charlotte Bronte captured my imagination with Jane Eyre when I read it for the first time when I was fifteen. She made me fall in love with the art of language. Then, Douglas Adams made me appreciate wit and the economic use of words in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which is probably my favorite book of all time. Then there's my favorite poet, Tennyson; who truly holds a dear place in my heart. Of all three, if I have to choose one I would have to go with Tennyson.
Q2: What inspired you to begin writing books? Did someone inspire you? Did another book inspire you?
FG: I started telling stories before I could write, and I started writing in the 4th Grade as an extra credit assignment (I was assigned to rewrite the endings of fairy tales.) I've written in some form ever since.
I think what inspired me to write was reading: I was a very early reader. My Grandmother taught me before I was three. So books from my childhood had a huge influence on my desire to tell stories and make up adventures, as did the movie Star Wars (which would now be called Star Wars Episode IV, A New Hope) which came out at theaters when I was six. I was totally enamored with it from day one: I wanted to be a girl Jedi! My friends wanted to be the princess but I wanted a lightsaber. So out of my love of that great story and many (Disney is a huge influence too) came my love of writing stories of my own.

Q3: What do you plan to do going forward in life with your books? Any big plans for a new series or novel?
FG: I've been writing very steadily for the past eighteen years especially... first I was drawn into writing groups online (where I got a lot of experience both writing and editing my own and others' work.)
I kept writing in groups, even eventually running my own collaborative group until 2011. But in 2008, after losing my sight and then regaining some of it after several complicated surgeries, I started to focus on the idea of writing a novel for publication.
Since I've been writing so much, for so long (and since I've published five novels with Booktrope in the past two years...) I am going to be taking some time to focus on getting the word out about those five novels while I consider my future.
I would love to write a book of flash fiction and poetry at some point. I also have a screenplay sitting around that I have been wanting to make into a full novel. A new idea for something completely different may occur to me tomorrow, or I might just work on marketing for a bit until an idea does. I've been at this a long time for many years (except for the bouts of writer's block brought on by Bipolar Disorder) so a little time to regroup is what my immediate plans are now.

Q4: I am always searching for new books to read. Do you have a favorite book series? If so, what is it and why is it your favorite?
FG: To be honest, I prefer to read stand-alone books, which are difficult to come by these days. With my limited eyesight the time I am able to read for pleasure is very limited. I use a reader on my Kindle sometimes but it's just not the same. When I do read for pleasure though I find I am most drawn to nonfiction books. I just finished Amanda Palmer's The Art of Asking (it has a lot of colorful language in it, I would say it's for the over 18 crowd...) and I absolutely loved it. It inspired me to look at life and art in a whole new way, and that is a rare gift to get from a book. I want to read it again as soon as I have a moment to spare.
Q5: Bonus Question: Do you collect anything? If so, why?
FG: I collect too many things! I love dollhouses and miniatures so there's that. I collect notebooks and stationery. I collect Disney things most: and I am especially happy to collect anything to do with Elsa from Frozen, a character I could really relate to for all her struggles. My favorite things to collect though are still books, letters (the handwritten kind) and memories. Memories are the longest-lasting souvenirs of all :)
Thank you so much for having me as your guest! I appreciate it!

A dark fantasy romance from the author of GODSPEED and OF STARDUST…
Don’t stay a moment longer than you have to. Don’t say too much. Don’t pollute the timeline.
When nineteen-year-old college library page Keigan Wainwright is sent to pick up a private donation of books for the school’s collection, he has no idea where one of those books will take him, or what it will take from him.
Retracing a powerful man’s footsteps through the past, Keigan finds himself caught in the same dangerous trap: falling in love with a woman he was never meant to know, and uncertain he will ever find his way home.
A special thank you to February Grace for being my first interview.

Lux Series Review(:
Hello,
So since I talk about the Lux Series almost always, I thought I would review this magical series.
We'll start with Obsidian. (Reliving the beautiful month I read this series in). I loved that this wasn't about vampires or werewolves or whatever. IT was about ALIENS. Can I get a hell yeah? I read this series slow, not because I was bored but because I loved it so much. My boyfriend even noticed. He was like "you must really love this series because you're taking your time." And I was like:

I read this series slow, not because I was bored but because I loved it so much. My boyfriend even noticed. He was like "you must really love this series because you're taking your time." And I was like:
So the story starts with Katy. I can relate to Katy so much because she loves to read..... uh YESSSS. She loves to blog, which I love to blog but I am not interesting enough.. so I just blog whenever I can. Anyways, then she meets HAWWWWWT Daemon Black. *let the choirs sing* and he is hot, hot, hot. I mean, hotter than... Four. Hotter than.... Edward, Jacob, whoeverrrr. Jennifer L. Armentrout did not let us down.... I mean he was so hot, I felt like this cat.
Katy was infuriating but I loved her. She reminded me of almost every character ever who just won't make a good decision. If she had just let Daemon know things, some people wouldn't have died. *No names...* The thing is she was like Bella. Always wanting to prove herself. I loved her though because to me she was headstrong and she knew what she wanted, most of the time.
I loved that they were made of light. To me, that was so different. I am not sure about the rest of you but to me that has never been done before. When I think of Aliens, I think of green weirdos. Or how they make them super creepy in movies now. But nowwwwww. Aliens= hot, perfect.. everything things instead of this alien that's dancing.
Who else hated Blake? I mean.... I KNEW HE WAS BAD!! I felt awful when he died... It was like one minute he's alive... next gone. It reminded me of Adam's death and I wonder if that was intentional? An eye for an eye kind of thing! I hated him because uh.. he was a murderer, a liar and HE WASN'T DAEMON BLACK. Then he went and got Katy locked up.... idiot.
Skip to Origin. WOOAH. I mean crazy stuff happened in this book. First off, there were like... crazy killer kids, origins there. I loved it! I mean Literally loved it. I went crazy for this stuff. They got married. Yesss, I loved it. The only thing I didn't like, I am so sorry Jennifer, I wanted to stay in Katy's mind the whole time. Forgive me, but it kind of made me... not think of Daemon as being mysterious anymore which was my favorite part. It also made me not appreciate Katy as much because her mind was so similar to Daemons in a way.. STILL top three favorite series ever.
So then I start Opposition. And Hell to the NO, Daemon and Katy are married and then Daemon is going off his rockers, he's hating on Katy. IT WAS ALL A TRICK my friends, don't fret. Katy was completely Badass to that idiot that kept flirting with Daemon, what was her stupid name?
Don't even know... your stupid name. Opposition was my least favorite but that is truly okay because you cannot top the first three books. You just can't. I don't want to say it but I will. This series is my new obsession and I will probably read it every single year like I do with Harry Potter. I have some serious reading problems...
Anyways, I know I didn't go in to much depth because I haven't read it in a while, okay like I read it maybe a month ago, but I still can't even begin to explain the beautifulness of the series as a whole. I will be reading every single book written by Jennifer L. Armentrout, no doubt in my mind. Even if it takes my whole life I will do it. I'll end up like Tiffany from Silver Lining's Playbook while trying to finish all her books because she writes faster than a mofo...
Wish me luck and sanity....
Love you all,
Taylor

Dream. Come. True.
Dear Readers,
I have the best news ever. So last month, Booktrope got in contact with me. They told me they wanted my new book, "The Prospect (The Antidote #2)" as well as "The Antidote (The Antidote #1)." AND I WAS LIKE OKAY.
I have the best news ever. So last month, Booktrope got in contact with me. They told me they wanted my new book, "The Prospect (The Antidote #2)" as well as "The Antidote (The Antidote #1)." AND I WAS LIKE OKAY.
So then(: I went through the motions. What could go wrong? What if I don't deliver and let them down. Then I asked all my friends and family their opinions. Long story short, a month later, I am ready. I was added to Teamtrope yesterday and my first thought was "This will be easy!" Then I entered the site and... I was like, WHAT. am. I. doing...
Then I calmed down, which is what I should have been doing already! I read all the documents (which they told me to read ASAP anyways..) and it all made sense. Thank the heavens.
So now(: I am working on "The Antidote." I got an editor today AS WELL AS a cover designer. I am beyond excited to have them both on my team. They both are amazing. I am so thrilled. I don't know when "The Antidote" will be back on sale or how long it will take but I do know that I had to take a few chances in life if I want to be successful. When I say successful, I mean that I want to have more readers and people who believe in me. I also want readers who think my book is pretty awesome. I want to be influential and awesome like Jennifer L. Armentrout. SHE IS THE BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD. (If you haven't please read the Lux series, you will not be disappointed.)
So here's the thing, I just want to reach new readers and have a book series that people want to read to get away from everyday life. I love you all who read my blog and my books. Fingers crossed that everything works out.
If not, you'll catch me in the bookstores, mending myself with books. (I do that already.)
Oh hey, there's me<3
Happy Reading!

Insurgent Movie Review (Spoiler Alert)
First of all, let me say that this movie was AMAZING. It
exceeded all of my expectations. I will admit when I first saw the trailer I thought
to myself, “Oh god. This can’t be good.” The first trailer was of a Sim and I was
thinking that this wouldn’t bring in any viewers because they won’t understand.
Then a little voice in the back of my head said, “These movies are to enhance
the enjoyment of the readers.” So I got over myself and got super excited. Then
the next trailers were beautifully done and I remembered how much I love the
books. (Remind self to reread the Divergent Series.) There were great moments
and then there were moments that a reader of the series cringed at.
1.The Sex
Scene: HELLO??? WTF!!!! I am so angry that Tris and Four had sex. Okay, yes
I was happy but then I was like WTFFFFFFFF this is a part of Tris’s development
as a character. Tris literally hates herself right now and she has sex when she
isn’t ready but because she feels she is going to die soon. HOW CLICHÉ. Stop
the madness. WHY the hell did this happen. I was so angry even though I was a
little happy about it. I don’t know how that could even happen but REALLY?
Roth, how did you let this happen? I love you to death but this scene was meant
for Allegiant and that’s where it should have stayed. Did I mention I love Four
sooooo much… jesus Christ and Theo James makes it ten times better.. Let the
Gods sing as we admire his beauty.. sigh.
2.The Box:
I have to admit I loved the box. It was really amazing to see all these things
combined from the box. Way to go Veronica Roth. Loved it. I LOVED WHEN TRIS FOUGHT HERSELF. “I WILL.” OH
MY GOOOODDD.
4. Caleb: I don't remember him being
remorseful in the book but maybe it's been such a long time that I forgot! I
wanted to hate Caleb because I literally loathe him in the book but somehow I
found myself not hating him and I DON'T WANT THAT. I WANT TO HATE HIM
STILL.
5.Tris's Hair: I hated this scene in the
book because when people cut their hair, I somehow get super salty( did I just
say salty?) In the movie, I loved the scene. It shows Tris hates herself. She
hates who she is and wants her appearance to be different. I love the
haircut because to me, it kind of shows that she wants an escape on the
outside, but the battle inside is still strong, which results to her anger.
(Can I say again, the sex scene was soooo out of character for me!! If you hate
yourself so much, how can you jump into something like that when your fear was
intimacy like… three weeks ago!?!?!)
6. Tris's Anger: I was so
happy to see that Tris’s anger was true to her character in the book. I loved
the foreshadowing that Caleb is against his sister when he refused to help her
when a factionless was about to kill her. She wasn’t calm and again it shows
that she is way different than before. (did anyone else jump when Four screamed at his mother? So embarrassing)
7.Uriah: I have a serious question for
all of you. Did he get shot in the head and die? Or was he okay?! I am so so
confused. I love Uriah and I want him to be alive. My family says he is alive
but didn’t Eric shoot him in the head??? HELP. If not, it’s another excuse to
go see it again ;) There's the silver lining.
All and all, this was an amazing movie. I can’t
wait for Allegiant. I wish the sex scene would be where it belongs but I am
willing to forgive because this book series is absolutely astounding. The
movie has Theo and Miles. They have a wonderful leading lady and I am so
pleased with these films. Keep em coming(:
Happy Reading<3
